Facial Exercises: The Ultimate Way to Fight the Skin Aging

by Jen Hopkins on 2010/03/01

Skin aging is probably one of the most common issues being discussed by women. Although this is a natural thing, women like to stay as young as possible. And to achieve this, they should have a wrinkle free face and a healthy body. One way of attaining this desire is to do a physical activity called facial exercise.

Before starting your exercise, make sure that your face is MOISTURIZED. You can do this by washing or splashing your face with water, applying moisturizer, face lubricant or facial oil. Always remember to never start the exercise with a dry skin.

The five main facial areas we would like to focus on this exercise are the muscles surrounding the eyes, chin, neck, mouth and scalp. These exercises will be able to lighten your face and beat those wrinkles in a few days or weeks after regular exercise.

Eye Region

Look at the eyes of other people and you'll be able to notice whether or not their skin is healthy or aging. One way to improve the eye area most especially to those people who has insufficient sleep is based on the following steps: * Position your fingers on your temples and pull that area slightly toward the back. * Keep your fingers pressed on your temples and close your eyes. Remain in this position for about two to three seconds. * Do this exercise for 25 to 50 times.

This exercise will lessen the baggy feel around the eyes, especially the lower portion of the eyes. Do two sets of this exercise everyday for 20 repetitions and you'll see the difference in no time!

Chin Region

To exercise the chin, lift your lower lip and hold it for about 5 seconds. At this point, you will feel that your chin is slightly protruded upfront. After that pull your chin back, stretching the chin area. Do this exercise for two to three sets of 20 everyday. Always remember to keep your head straight while doing the exercise.

Muscles around the scalp area

This exercise is also a way to minimize the lines on your forehead and lighten up your face. You can do this exercise by raising your eyebrows and holding that position for approximately 2 -3 seconds. You will fill a slight stretch at the upper region of your face. Next, pull back your ear muscles and let the contraction feeling at the back of your forehead hold for about 2 - 3 seconds. By doing this exercise everyday for five minutes, your face will feel a lot lighter.

Mouth Region

This exercise is mainly to attain a fuller mouth. To begin with, place your two index fingers inside your mouth and pull your mouth at a sideward direction. Clean your hands before doing this exercise so as to avoid bacteria. After extending your mouth in about a quarter or about three eighths of an inch maybe, contract your mouth until your two fingers touch. Repeat the process 25 to 50 times a day to get the best results.

Musles around the frontal portion of the neck

This exercise will help eliminate the loose skin at the front of your neck and make it look a lot more firm. Tilt your head back, making sure that your chin is positioned slightly upward. Place your tongue at the roof area of your mouth. Hold that position for about two to three seconds and slowly lower down your chin. Make sure that your tongue is still at the top of your mouth.

That's it! Those are just the simple ways to fight skin aging and get rid of wrinkles. Always remember to do these exercises carefully and properly and you'll be good in no time! Most importantly, always smile and stay happy!
